Git is - famously - a distributed version control system that copies the entire history of the repository to each users' computer. When you're working on a large monorepo, that's not the best idea, and there are better ways to use Git.
In this session, we'll look at what GitHub has recommended to some of our large monorepo customers for how to use Git effectively. We'll talk about the different dimensions of scale - i.e. what does "large" actually mean? - we'll go over the best configuration for using Git, and we'll talk about how to make sure you're not hurting yourself, or your friendly Git hosting provider, with your monorepo usage.
